On September 1, 2008 the UMB/UMBC “Downtown Line” Shuttle that is patronized by many students here at UMB, will begin charging a monthly fee. The fee will be used to offset the rising price of gas and contractual costs, and will apply to all persons who ride the shuttle, including students.

The annual commencement ceremony for the University of Maryland Baltimore was held at the First Mariner’s Arena on Friday, May 16. More than 1,800 students from the schools of dentistry, law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and social work, from the Graduate School, and from programs in dental hygiene, medical and research technology, physical therapy and rehabilitation science, human genetics, and nursing practice were present to receive their degrees.
