In a crime alert released on February 13, University Police announced that a rash of juvenile assaults in and around the campus has continued into the month of February.  The most recent incident occurred on February 11 in the 100 block of North Paca Street.  No details about the assault have been released as yet, but five juveniles were taken into custody.

A total of eleven juveniles have been taken into custody in the past month in relation to common assaults involving university personnel.  The cases against these individuals are pending adjudication in Baltimore City Juvenile Court.

University Police is encouraging all students, faculty, and staff to utilize the campus escort program or the Caravan service.  Individuals are also advised not to walk alone and to avoid areas that are poorly lit or lightly traveled.   However, the police cautioned that at least one of the assaults occurred midday in a highly traversed area.

Anyone having information regarding these incidents should contact Detective Daniel Boone of the University Police at 410-706-3573.
