A major fire broke out in a row house on the 900 block of West Lombard St. in the Hollins Market community of West Baltimore on Tuesday night.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the two-alarm fire caused significant damage to the second and third floor of the home. Residents of the affected and adjacent houses were forced to evacuate as a result of the flames and the billowing smoke.  The cause of the fire is unclear and being investigated by the Baltimore City Fire Department.

The fire has left 15 people, including 3 children without a home, although no one was seriously hurt.  The Central Maryland Chapter of the American Red Cross together with members of Baltimore’s Neighborhood Services provided the displaced families with temporary shelter, some clothes, and money.
