The School of Pharmacy awards a number of competitive fellowships to students each year including the Graduate Student Teaching Fellowship Award, Pharmaceutical Sciences Departmental Fellowship Awards, and Merit Awards.
The School of Pharmacy graduate program initiated the Student Teaching Fellowship Award in 2007 to promote training of future educators and academics. The graduate programs in the Pharmaceutical Sciences (PSC) and Pharmaceutical Health Services Research (PHSR) Departments offer teaching scholarships in order to provide students with teaching experiences in the PharmD curriculum. Kevin Lv and Keri Yang from the PHSR Department; and Xiaowan Zheng, S.J. Lee, Wenchi Hsu, Marwa Aboukhatwa, and Bart Rogers from the PSC Department received teaching fellowships.
The very competitive department fellowship covers a student’s stipend for the year of the award. These fellowships are awarded to outstanding graduate students to support their thesis research. Fellowship winners include Diane Doughty, S.J. Lee, Vikas Moolchandani, and Trudy Smith.
Merit awards winners receive a one time $2,000 supplement to their stipend. This year’s winners are Lisa Bareford, Mark Borgman, Marishka Brown, Naissan Hussainzada, Marilyn Matthews, and Rana Rais.
