As I sit here watching the American League Championship Series—for those of you with better things to do with your time than enter a near catatonic state in front of a television or, even more unfortunately, for those who have lived in or around Baltimore for the last decade and have simply forgotten: I’m talking about baseball—I continue to repeat the same basic mantra within the cluttered confines of my soul that guides not only my borderline borderline (little mental health joke there) obsession with sports, but also my everyday life in general: I hate everyone who is even remotely different than me.

As I was watching FOX's broadcast of the current bevy of matchups in the NFL, I couldn't help but notice some of their commercial spots for the baseball playoff games. The much-repeated tagline was "You can't script October," which, while certainly true in baseball, holds even more so this NFL season.
